TSN: Aebischer signs contract with Coyotes
Habster’s take:
David “the puck is a grenade” Aebischer has finally found a home. With the exception of Andre”Red Light”Racicot, I can’t remember seeing a Habs goaltender as bad technically as Aebischer was in the second half of the season. It was almost too painful to watch games where Abby mishandled the puck or treated it like a grenade. His rebound control was almost non-existence and there were moments when he would cost the Canadiens games with 1 or 2 weak goals per game. If Aebischer can straighten out his technical flaws, Phoenix Coyotes will have a capable back up with experience. Phoenix doesn’t have a lot of depth at the goalie position with only Mikael Tellqvist and prospect David LeNeveu being the other options so Aebischer will certainly be given a chance to win the starting job. I only hope that the Coyotes’ defensemen get danger pay for all the pucks that will hit them after Abby deflects the shot (grenade) towards them. Good luck Jovo and company!!!!!
