MONTREAL, QC – We are proud to announce that Visa has selected All Habs as a partner for their “Hockey Love Hurts” contest! To enter, participants are asked to describe ways in which your favourite NHL team is causing you emotional pain.
Have the Canadiens broken your heart?
How about that game in 2007 when the Habs had a 4-1 lead over the Preds with eight minutes to go and lost 5-4 in OT?
Remember the 2006 playoffs with the Habs up 2-0 in the series and Saku Koivu took a stick to the eye from Justin Williams? The Habs never recovered.
Do you have a favourite player who was seriously injured or out for the season?
How did you feel when your favourite player was traded away to another team?
In addition to the prizes listed at www.hockeylovehurts.ca, Visa has generously donated two $50 giftcards exclusively for the All Habs community. And since we know that folks like you Leafs, Bruins and Sens fans have plenty to cry about too, we’re opening the contest doors to fans from all NHL teams!
We are offering two ways to win:
First, attend the Montreal Habs Tweetup on February 12, 2011. In addition to having an opportunity to submit your most memorable “Hockey Love Hurts” moment for contest consideration, you’ll also enjoy meeting other Habs fans while watching a Habs/Leafs rivalry game from the mezzanine at McLean’s Pub on Peel – just minutes from the Bell Centre! Don’t forget to RSVP today at www.habstweetup.com.
Relive the drama of your best “Hockey Love Hurts” story by posting it as a comment to this article. It’s that easy! (But please, try to keep the tears off the keyboard k?)
Listen, we all know the old saying “love hurts”. So this Valentine’s Day weekend why not show us how hockey love has hurt you? A $50 giftcard might just heal those wounds!
Don’t delay! This contest is only open until 11:59 PM (EST) on Sunday, February 13, 2011.
Contest winners must have a Canadian mailing address. Participants must be 18 years of ago or older. Prizes must be accepted as awarded; no substitutions.

About the Author (Author Profile)Amy is the manager and lead contributor of the Habs Tweetup website. She is a professional voice actor and is the vocal talent behind All Habs OUT LOUD. We try to overlook her fascination with the Orange & Black and take solace that she is almost equally passionate about the Canadiens. Her favourite NHL player is Martin Biron. When she's not watching hockey or traveling to a Habs Tweetup, Amy can be found watching other sports like football, baseball, and tennis. She also enjoys reading, watching movies, gardening, and performing as a bellydancer.
