Habs Prospect Mark MacMillan’s Spectacular Solo Goal [VIDEO]

Mark MacMillan  was selected in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. Playing in his second year at the University of North Dakota, MacMillan tends to be overshadowed  in the news by linemate Danny Kristo (who is having a very good season.) Kristo has scored in six straight games while amassing 12 points during that span.

On Friday night in the third period, all eyes turned to MacMillan who picked up the puck in his own zone, sped down the wing and scored for a spectacular solo goal.  His marker tied the game against Colorado College.  CC scored about ten minutes later to pick up the 4-3 win ending UND’s winning streak at seven games.

“I got on the ice, the puck was sitting there, had a little bit of room so I tried to pick up some speed, happened to get by their defenseman. I don’t even know how I tucked it in, just got by the goalie.” — Mark MacMillan

(Want to know more about this Habs prospect? MacMillan was kind enough to sit down for a one-on-one interview with All Habs in November.)
