Long story short: After two decades of not really understanding it, Erica (aka Rookie) gave in to one of the best things about being a Montrealer: the Canadiens. She'd been a rabid TV fan for years before, which explains why she might on occasion compare hockey to TV. Hockey fans and TV fans are from two different worlds. It's an interesting line to walk, but Rookie's trying to give you the best of both worlds.
Canadiens sign Josh Gorges to 6-year contract extension
It is being reported that Josh Gorges signed a six-year contract worth $23.4 million. Gorges’ agent Kevin Epp said, “Habs would not have to pay that much had something been done in the summer.” by Rookie, AllHabs.net MONTREAL, QC. — … Continue reading
The Perfect Gift For A Habs Fan
But things aren’t quite right in Habs Nation these days. If Santa’s sleigh ran on team spirit, it would barely get off the ground. Some fans don’t love the team as much as they should, because it’s been a tough year. Continue reading
Completely Irrational Thoughts About Acquiring Tomas Kaberle
by Rookie, AllHabs.net MONTREAL, QC. — Wait, they did what?! What did Jaroslav Spacek ever do, to deserve such a fate as this? A trade to Carolina, one of the only teams doing worse than the Canadiens, except at least … Continue reading
Frustration with Markov, Enough is Enough
Yesterday, after an especially heated week of rumours concerning defenceman Andrei Markov’s possible return from injury, General Manager Pierre Gauthier addressed the media. Lessons from a Legend, Ken Dryden
Dryden, of course, has led a fascinating life so far. He’s a true multihyphenate: NHL legend, lawyer, writer, politician, and family man. He discussed all of these roles, and every story he told was great, but I’ll be honest: I couldn’t get over the fact that my favourite Montreal Canadien of all time was standing before me. Continue reading
A Pilgrimage with La Sainte-Flanelle
It’s often been said that the Canadiens are like a religion in Montreal. Ironically, it’s because of my real religion that I got my first Habs jersey. Continue reading
All Habs Faceoff: Markov or Wisniewski?
With the free agent market as active as ever in the last two weeks, we’ve decided to have another All Habs Faceoff. Two of this season’s Canadiens defencemen, Andrei Markov and James Wisniewski, faced free agency and were expected to ask for similar salaries. Here lies the question: If you were Pierre Gauthier and had to choose, who would you sign? Markov or Wisniewski? Continue reading
A Habs-Style Reality Upgrade to Summer TV
By Rookie, AllHabs.net MONTREAL, QC. — I don’t know what to do with myself these days. The hockey season is over, the TV season is over. No hockey games on television, only weak reality shows. Can I combine the two and … Continue reading
