Brodeur gets a shot: Canadiens’ brass must have liked what they saw when Etienne Brodeur at their second development camp in July. Brodeur has been invited to the rookie camp that will begin in early September. The diminutive winger is hoping to land a contract that would see him playing in the AHL or ECHL in the Fall.

Brodeur could also play as an overage junior with Chicoutimi Sagueneens who hold his QMJHL rights after he was picked up in the dispersal draft from the disbanded Lewiston Maineiacs.  The 20-year-old had 53 goals last season with Lewiston finishing eighth in league scoring.

Yemelin arrives (finally): Alexei Yemelin was in Montreal this week taking his first strides on the Bell Sports Complex ice in Brossard.  Yemelin confirmed that he will wear No. 74 (most recently worn by former Canadien Sergei Kostitsyn) and worked out with Lars Eller and Alain Berger.
